Dao De Jing, or Tao Te Ching, is the foundational text of Daoism. It is composed of 81 (9×9) short verses, likely recorded from the 6th century BC onwards.

This 2026 translation aims to stay as true as possible to the original Chinese characters, while still being clear and easy to read. Together with the added illustrations, it offers a modern gateway to the Dao’s timeless wisdom.

Finally! A complete English translation is now available on the Chinese Text Project website.
